Both Leica T Typ 701 and Leica X2 have 16.0 MP resolution sensors but Leica T Typ 701's sensor is APS-C (23.6 x 15.7 mm ) and Leica X2's sensor is APS-C (23.6 x 15.8 mm ).
Since Leica X2's has a larger sensor area with the same resolution, this means that it also has a larger pixel area hence better light collecting capacity for a given aperture compared to Leica T Typ 701.
Below you can see the T Type 701 and X2 sensor size comparison.
Leica T Typ 701 and Leica X2 have almost the same sensor size, so neither of them has any significant advantage over the other in terms of providing control over depth of field when used with the same focal length and aperture.
