Both Fujifilm F550 EXR and Leica TL have 16.0 MP resolution sensors but Fujifilm F550 EXR's sensor is 1/2-inch (6.4 x 4.8 mm ) and Leica TL's sensor is APS-C (23.6 x 15.7 mm ).
Since Leica TL's has a larger sensor area with the same resolution, this means that it also has a larger pixel area hence better light collecting capacity for a given aperture compared to Fujifilm F550 EXR.

As seen above, Leica TL has a 12.1x Larger sensor area than Fujifilm F550 EXR. Larger sensors give photographer more control on the depth of field and blurry background compared to smaller sensor when shot in same focal length and aperture.

One thing to watch when comparing these two: they have different sensor sizes
(1/2-inch versus APS-C),
so compare them at the same framing rather than the same focal length.
