Both Blackmagic 6K G2 and Nikon D5 have 21.0 MP resolution sensors but Blackmagic 6K G2's sensor is Super 35 (23.1 x 13 mm ) and Nikon D5's sensor is Full frame (35.8 x 23.9 mm ).
Since Nikon D5's has a larger sensor area with the same resolution, this means that it also has a larger pixel area hence better light collecting capacity for a given aperture compared to Blackmagic 6K G2.

As seen above, Nikon D5 has a 2.9x Larger sensor area than Blackmagic 6K G2. Larger sensors give photographer more control on the depth of field and blurry background compared to smaller sensor when shot in same focal length and aperture.

One thing to watch when comparing these two: they have different sensor sizes

so compare them at the same framing rather than the same focal length.
