The short version
Your photos never leave your computer. The plugin sends only anonymous, aggregated
numbers needed to draw your report. There are no accounts, no tracking, and reports
are deleted automatically after 90 days.
Who this covers
This policy applies to CAMDEC Snapshot, a free plugin for Adobe Lightroom
Classic, and the report pages it generates at cameradecision.com/catalogstats. The plugin
and site are provided by Camera Decision.
What the plugin sends
When you run the plugin, it reads metadata from the photos you selected and sends a
small, aggregated summary to our server so it can build your report. That summary contains:
Counts and distributions of camera models, lenses, lens mounts, sensor formats, focal lengths, apertures, shutter speeds, ISO, flash use, file formats, orientation, crop status, star ratings, and capture dates/times.
The number of photos and videos analysed, and the overall date range.
The name of your catalog file (for example "Wedding 2026.lrcat"), used only as a heading on your report.
What it never sends
Your photos or video files. No image data is ever transmitted.
File paths or folder names, GPS/location, keywords, or captions.
Your name, email, or any account information - there is no sign-up and no login.
Your report
Each report is saved at a private, unguessable web address. It is not listed anywhere and search engines are asked not to index it.
Anyone who has the link can view that report, so only share the link with people you choose.
Reports are automatically deleted after 90 days.
AI-written summary (only if shown)
Some reports include a short, AI-written "shooting style" summary. When that feature is enabled,
the same aggregated numbers described above (never your photos) are sent to our AI provider,
Anthropic, to generate that text.
If your report does not show an "AI take on your style" section, no data is sent to any AI provider.
Server logs & hosting
Like any website, our server and its security provider (Cloudflare) keep standard technical logs,
which may include your IP address, for security and abuse prevention. We do not use these logs to
identify you, and we do not set advertising or tracking cookies.
Your choices
If you'd rather your catalog name not appear, rename the catalog before running the plugin.
You can ask us to delete a report before its 90-day expiry - just send us the report link.
Simply not running the plugin means no data is ever sent.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
