Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Sony a3500 and Panasonic G6 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Sony a3500 has external dimensions of 128 x 91 x 85 mm (5.04 x 3.58 x 3.35″) and weighs 411 g (0.91 lb / 14.50 oz) (including batteries). Panasonic G6 has external dimensions of 122 x 85 x 71 mm (4.8 x 3.35 x 2.8″) and weighs 390 g (0.86 lb / 13.76 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Sony a3500 and the Panasonic G6. Panasonic G6 is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. Its body is 6mm narrower, 6mm shorter and 14mm thinner than Sony a3500.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Sony a3500 and Panasonic G6.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Panasonic G6 is 21g lighter than the Sony a3500 but we don't think this will make a significant difference.
Also keep in mind that body weight is not the only deciding factor when comparing two interchangeable camera bodies, you also have to take into account the lenses that you will be using with these bodies. Since Sony a3500 has an APS-C sized sensor and Panasonic G6 has a smaller Four Thirds sensor, Panasonic G6's lenses for a similar focal length and aperture will generally be lighter and smaller than the Sony a3500 lenses.
Weather Sealing
Unfortunately neither the Sony Alpha a3500 nor Panasonic Lumix DMC-G6 provides any type of weather sealing in their bodies, so you have to give extra care especially when you are shooting outdoors. LCD Screen Size and Features
Sony a3500 and Panasonic G6's LCD screens have the same diagonal size of 3.00 inches.
On the other hand, Panasonic G6 sports a
Fully Articulated screen which you can change the angle and position of the screen almost freely, making it possible to shoot from waist or over-the-head levels, and especially very useful for shooting selfies and video. Sony a3500's LCD screen is a fixed type which provides almost no flexibility in shooting positions compared to G6.
