Size and weight is a big decision factor when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, We are going to illustrate Sony A7S II and Olympus SZ-11 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Sony A7S II has external dimensions of 127 x 96 x 60 mm (5 x 3.78 x 2.36″) and weighs 627 g (1.38 lb / 22.12 oz) (including batteries). Olympus SZ-11 has external dimensions of 106 x 69 x 40 mm (4.17 x 2.72 x 1.57″) and weighs 226 g (0.50 lb / 7.97 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front view size comparison of Sony A7S II and Olympus SZ-11. Olympus SZ-11 is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. Its body is 21mm narrower, 27mm shorter and 20mm thinner than Sony A7S II. As you can tell, actually this is not a fair size comparison since Olympus SZ-11 has a built-in lens but Sony A7S II doesn't. Once you put a lens on A7S II, its thickness will increase significantly.
Here is the back view size comparison of Sony A7S II and Olympus SZ-11.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Sony A7S II and Olympus SZ-11.
Weight is another important factor especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Olympus SZ-11 is significantly lighter (401g ) than the Sony A7S II which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.
Again, this comparison may not be very useful in real life as we are comparing the weight of a camera with a built-in lens to the body-only weight of an interchangeable lens camera. Once you put a lens on A7S II, the total kit will weigh much higher.
With its weather sealed body, we believe that A7S II has a big advantage over SZ-11 which doesn't provide any kind of environmental sealing.
LCD Screen Size and Features
Sony A7S II and Olympus SZ-11's LCD screens has the same diagonal size of 3".
On the other hand, Sony A7S II features a Tilting screen
where you can change the angle of the screen to make it easier to shoot from waist or over the head levels whereas the Olympus SZ-11 has a fixed type screen which provides less flexibility in shooting positions compared to A7S II.
