Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Samsung GX-10 and Canon 450D side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Samsung GX-10 has external dimensions of 142 x 101 x 70 mm (5.59 x 3.98 x 2.76″) and weighs 793 g (1.75 lb / 27.97 oz) (including batteries). Canon 450D has external dimensions of 129 x 98 x 62 mm (5.08 x 3.86 x 2.44″) and weighs 524 g (1.16 lb / 18.48 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Samsung GX-10 and the Canon 450D. Canon 450D is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. Its body is 13mm narrower, 3mm shorter and 8mm thinner than Samsung GX-10.
Here is the back view size comparison of the Samsung GX-10 and Canon 450D.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Canon 450D is significantly lighter (269g ) than the Samsung GX-10 which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.
Also keep in mind that body weight is not the only deciding factor when comparing two interchangeable camera bodies, you also have to take into account the lenses that you will be using with these bodies. Since both Samsung GX-10 and Canon 450D have the same APS-C sized sensor, their lenses for a similar focal length and aperture will be similar in size and weight.
Weather Sealing
With its weather-sealed body, we believe that the GX-10 has a big advantage over the 450D which doesn't provide any kind of environmental sealing.
LCD Screen Size and Features
Canon 450D's 3.00" LCD screen is slightly larger than Samsung GX-10's 2.5" screen.
Unfortunately, both cameras has fixed screens so they don't tilt or flip in directions.
