Size and weight is a big decision factor when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, We are going to illustrate Samsung CL80 and Sony A7S II side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Samsung CL80 has external dimensions of 104 x 58 x 20 mm (4.09 x 2.28 x 0.79″) and weighs 160 g (0.35 lb / 5.64 oz) (including batteries). Sony A7S II has external dimensions of 127 x 96 x 60 mm (5 x 3.78 x 2.36″) and weighs 627 g (1.38 lb / 22.12 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front view size comparison of Samsung CL80 and Sony A7S II. Samsung CL80 is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. Its body is 23mm narrower, 38mm shorter and 40mm thinner than Sony A7S II. As you can tell, actually this is not a fair size comparison since Samsung CL80 has a built-in lens but Sony A7S II doesn't. Once you put a lens on A7S II, its thickness will increase significantly.
Weight is another important factor especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Samsung CL80 is significantly lighter (467g ) than the Sony A7S II which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.
Again, this comparison may not be very useful in real life as we are comparing the weight of a camera with a built-in lens to the body-only weight of an interchangeable lens camera. Once you put a lens on A7S II, the total kit will weigh much higher.
Thanks to the weather sealed body of A7S II, you can use this camera with more confidence under conditions where there is risk of exposure to water and dust compared to CL80.
LCD Screen Size and Features
Samsung CL80's 3.7" LCD screen is slightly larger than Sony A7S II's 3 screen.
On the other hand, Sony A7S II LCD screen has a Tilting feature
where you can change the angle of the screen to make it easier to shoot from waist or over the head levels. On the other hand, Samsung CL80 has a fixed type screen which provides less flexibility in shooting positions compared to A7S II.
