Ricoh G900 vs Samsung NX210: Physical Specs and Body Features Comparison

Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs. In this section, we are going to illustrate the Ricoh G900 and Samsung NX210 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Ricoh G900 has external dimensions of 118 x 66 x 33 mm (4.65 x 2.6 x 1.3″) and weighs 247 g (0.54 lb / 8.71 oz) (including batteries). Samsung NX210 has external dimensions of 117 x 63 x 37 mm (4.61 x 2.48 x 1.46″) and weighs 222 g (0.49 lb / 7.83 oz) (including batteries).

Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Ricoh G900 and the Samsung NX210. Samsung NX210 is 1mm narrower and 3mm shorter than Ricoh G900 but it is also 4mm thicker. As you can tell, actually this is not a fair size comparison since Ricoh G900 has a built-in lens but Samsung NX210 doesn't. Once you put a lens on NX210, its thickness will increase significantly.

Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day. Samsung NX210 is 25g lighter than the Ricoh G900 but we don't think this will make a significant difference.

Again, this comparison may not be very useful in real life as we are comparing the weight of a camera with a built-in lens to the body-only weight of an interchangeable lens camera. Once you put a lens on NX210, the total kit will weigh much higher.

Weather Sealing

Thanks to the weather-sealed body of the G900, you can use this camera with more confidence under conditions where there is risk of exposure to water and dust compared to the NX210.

LCD Screen Size and Features

Ricoh G900 and Samsung NX210's LCD screens have the same diagonal size of 3.00 inches.

Unfortunately, both cameras has fixed screens so they don't tilt or flip in directions.

Ricoh G900 vs Samsung NX210: Sensor Comparison

Both Ricoh G900 and Samsung NX210 have 20.0 MP resolution sensors but Ricoh G900's sensor is 1/2.3 (6.17 x 4.55 mm ) and Samsung NX210's sensor is APS-C (23.5 x 15.7 mm ).

Since Samsung NX210's has a larger sensor area with the same resolution, this means that it also has a larger pixel area hence better light collecting capacity for a given aperture compared to Ricoh G900.

Below you can see the G900 and NX210 sensor size comparison.
