Size and weight is a big decision factor when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, We are going to illustrate Panasonic GX8 and Leica T Type 701 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Panasonic GX8 has external dimensions of 133 x 78 x 63 mm (5.24 x 3.07 x 2.48″) and weighs 487 g (1.07 lb / 17.18 oz) (including batteries). Leica T Type 701 has external dimensions of 134 x 69 x 33 mm (5.28 x 2.72 x 1.3″) and weighs 384 g (0.85 lb / 13.55 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front view size comparison of Panasonic GX8 and Leica T Type 701. Leica T Type 701 is 9mm shorter and 30mm thinner than Panasonic GX8 but it is also 1mm wider.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Panasonic GX8 and Leica T Type 701.
Weight is another important factor especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Leica T Type 701 is significantly lighter (103g ) than the Panasonic GX8 which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.
Also keep in mind that body weight is not the only deciding factor when comparing two interchangeable camera bodies, you have to also take into account the lenses that you will be using with these bodies. Since Leica T Type 701 has an APS-C sized sensor and Panasonic GX8 has a smaller Four Thirds sensor, Panasonic GX8's lenses for a similar focal length and aperture will generally be lighter and smaller than the Leica T Type 701 lenses.
With its weather sealed body, we believe that GX8 has a big advantage over T Type 701 which doesn't provide any kind of environmental sealing.
LCD Screen Size and Features
Leica T Type 701's 3.7" LCD screen is slightly larger than Panasonic GX8's 3" screen.
On the other hand, Panasonic GX8 sports a Fully Articulated screen
which you can change the angle and position of the screen almost freely, making it possible to shoot from waist or over the head levels, and especially very useful for shooting selfies and video. On the other hand, Leica T Type 701 has a fixed type screen which provides almost no flexibility in shooting positions compared to GX8.
