Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Panasonic FP2 and Sony TX30 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Panasonic FP2 has external dimensions of 99 x 59 x 19 mm (3.9 x 2.32 x 0.75″) and weighs 151 g (0.33 lb / 5.33 oz) (including batteries). Sony TX30 has external dimensions of and weighs 141 g (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Panasonic FP2 and the Sony TX30. Panasonic FP2 has the same height with Sony TX30. On the other hand, with a width of 99mm, it is 3 wider and also with a thickness of 19mm, it is 4mm thicker than Sony TX30.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Sony TX30 is 10g lighter than the Panasonic FP2 but we don't think this will make a significant difference.
Weather Sealing
Thanks to the weather-sealed body of the TX30, you can use this camera with more confidence under conditions where there is risk of exposure to water and dust compared to the FP2.
LCD Screen Size and Features
Sony TX30's 3.30" LCD screen is slightly larger than Panasonic FP2's 2.7 screen.
Unfortunately, both cameras has fixed screens so they don't tilt or flip in directions.
