Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Panasonic S1H and Leica SL2-S side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Panasonic S1H has external dimensions of 151 x 114 x 110 mm (5.94 x 4.49 x 4.33″) and weighs 1052 g (2.32 lb / 37.11 oz) (including batteries). Leica SL2-S has external dimensions of 146 x 107 x 83 mm (5.75 x 4.21 x 3.27″) and weighs 931 g (2.05 lb / 32.84 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Panasonic S1H and the Leica SL2-S. Leica SL2-S is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. Its body is 5mm narrower, 7mm shorter and 27mm thinner than Panasonic S1H.
Here is the back view size comparison of the Panasonic S1H and Leica SL2-S.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Panasonic S1H and Leica SL2-S.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Leica SL2-S is 121g lighter than the Panasonic S1H but we don't think this will make a significant difference.
Also keep in mind that body weight is not the only deciding factor when comparing two interchangeable camera bodies, you also have to take into account the lenses that you will be using with these bodies. Since both Panasonic S1H and Leica SL2-S have the same Leica L lens mount and Full frame sized sensors, lenses will not be a differentiator on total size of the system.
Weather Sealing
Both the S1H and the SL2-S have weather sealings in their bodies, making them resistant to water and dust.
LCD Screen Size and Features
Panasonic S1H and Leica SL2-S's LCD screens have the same diagonal size of 3.20 inches.
On the other hand, Panasonic S1H sports a
Fully Articulated screen which you can change the angle and position of the screen almost freely, making it possible to shoot from waist or over-the-head levels, and especially very useful for shooting selfies and video. Leica SL2-S's LCD screen is a fixed type which provides almost no flexibility in shooting positions compared to S1H.
