Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Panasonic G100 and Sony A6000 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Panasonic G100 has external dimensions of 116 x 83 x 54 mm (4.57 x 3.27 x 2.13″) and weighs 352 g (0.78 lb / 12.42 oz) (including batteries). Sony A6000 has external dimensions of 120 x 67 x 45 mm (4.72 x 2.64 x 1.77″) and weighs 344 g (0.76 lb / 12.13 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Panasonic G100 and the Sony A6000. Sony A6000 is 16mm shorter and 9mm thinner than Panasonic G100 but it is also 4mm wider.
Here is the back view size comparison of the Panasonic G100 and Sony A6000.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Panasonic G100 and Sony A6000.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Sony A6000 is 8g lighter than the Panasonic G100 but we don't think this will make a significant difference.
Also keep in mind that body weight is not the only deciding factor when comparing two interchangeable camera bodies, you also have to take into account the lenses that you will be using with these bodies. Since Sony A6000 has an APS-C sized sensor and Panasonic G100 has a smaller Four Thirds sensor, Panasonic G100's lenses for a similar focal length and aperture will generally be lighter and smaller than the Sony A6000 lenses.
Weather Sealing
Unfortunately neither the Panasonic Lumix DC-G100 nor Sony Alpha a6000 provides any type of weather sealing in their bodies, so you have to give extra care especially when you are shooting outdoors. LCD Screen Size and Features
Panasonic G100 and Sony A6000's LCD screens have the same diagonal size of 3.00 inches.
Sony A6000 features a
Tilting-only screen which is mostly only good for shooting from waist or over-the-head levels. On the other hand, Panasonic G100 sports a
Fully Articulated screen which is more flexible and useful, especially for taking selfies and video.
