Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Olympus TG-4 and Panasonic GX8 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Olympus TG-4 has external dimensions of 112 x 66 x 31 mm (4.41 x 2.6 x 1.22″) and weighs 247 g (0.54 lb / 8.71 oz) (including batteries). Panasonic GX8 has external dimensions of 133 x 78 x 63 mm (5.24 x 3.07 x 2.48″) and weighs 487 g (1.07 lb / 17.18 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Olympus TG-4 and the Panasonic GX8. Olympus TG-4 is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. Its body is 21mm narrower, 12mm shorter and 32mm thinner than Panasonic GX8. As you can tell, actually this is not a fair size comparison since Olympus TG-4 has a built-in lens but Panasonic GX8 doesn't. Once you put a lens on GX8, its thickness will increase significantly.
Here is the back view size comparison of the Olympus TG-4 and Panasonic GX8.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Olympus TG-4 and Panasonic GX8.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Olympus TG-4 is significantly lighter (240g ) than the Panasonic GX8 which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.
Again, this comparison may not be very useful in real life as we are comparing the weight of a camera with a built-in lens to the body-only weight of an interchangeable lens camera. Once you put a lens on GX8, the total kit will weigh much higher.

LCD Screen Size and Features
Olympus TG-4 and Panasonic GX8's LCD screens have the same diagonal size of 3.00 inches.
On the other hand, Panasonic GX8 sports a
Fully Articulated screen which you can change the angle and position of the screen almost freely, making it possible to shoot from waist or over-the-head levels, and especially very useful for shooting selfies and video. Olympus TG-4's LCD screen is a fixed type which provides almost no flexibility in shooting positions compared to GX8.
