Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Olympus SP-610UZ and Kodak S-1 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Olympus SP-610UZ has external dimensions of 107 x 73 x 73 mm (4.21 x 2.87 x 2.87″) and weighs 405 g (0.89 lb / 14.29 oz) (including batteries). Kodak S-1 has external dimensions of 116 x 68 x 36 mm (4.55 x 2.69 x 1.4″) and weighs 290 g (0.64 lb / 10.23 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Olympus SP-610UZ and the Kodak S-1. Kodak S-1 is 5mm shorter and 37mm thinner than Olympus SP-610UZ but it is also 9mm wider. As you can tell, actually this is not a fair size comparison since Olympus SP-610UZ has a built-in lens but Kodak S-1 doesn't. Once you put a lens on S-1, its thickness will increase significantly.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Olympus SP-610UZ and Kodak S-1.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Kodak S-1 is significantly lighter (115g ) than the Olympus SP-610UZ which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.
Again, this comparison may not be very useful in real life as we are comparing the weight of a camera with a built-in lens to the body-only weight of an interchangeable lens camera. Once you put a lens on S-1, the total kit will weigh much higher.
Weather Sealing
Unfortunately neither the Olympus SP-610UZ nor Kodak Pixpro S-1 provides any type of weather sealing in their bodies, so you have to give extra care especially when you are shooting outdoors. LCD Screen Size and Features
Olympus SP-610UZ and Kodak S-1's LCD screens have the same diagonal size of 3.00 inches.
On the other hand, Kodak S-1 features a
Tilting screen where you can change the angle of the screen to make it easier to shoot from waist or over-the-head levels whereas the Olympus SP-610UZ has a fixed type screen which provides less flexibility in shooting positions compared to S-1.
