Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Nikon P610 and Olympus E-600 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Nikon P610 has external dimensions of 125 x 85 x 107 mm (4.92 x 3.35 x 4.21″) and weighs 565 g (1.25 lb / 19.93 oz) (including batteries). Olympus E-600 has external dimensions of 130 x 94 x 60 mm (5.12 x 3.7 x 2.36″) and weighs 515 g (1.14 lb / 18.17 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Nikon P610 and the Olympus E-600. Nikon P610 is 5mm narrower and 9mm shorter than Olympus E-600 but it is also 47mm thicker. As you can tell, actually this is not a fair size comparison since Nikon P610 has a built-in lens but Olympus E-600 doesn't. Once you put a lens on E-600, its thickness will increase significantly.
Here is the back view size comparison of the Nikon P610 and Olympus E-600.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Nikon P610 and Olympus E-600.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Olympus E-600 is 50g lighter than the Nikon P610 but we don't think this will make a significant difference.
Again, this comparison may not be very useful in real life as we are comparing the weight of a camera with a built-in lens to the body-only weight of an interchangeable lens camera. Once you put a lens on E-600, the total kit will weigh much higher.
Weather Sealing
Unfortunately neither the Nikon Coolpix P610 nor Olympus E-600 provides any type of weather sealing in their bodies, so you have to give extra care especially when you are shooting outdoors. LCD Screen Size and Features
Nikon P610's 3.00" LCD screen is slightly larger than Olympus E-600's 2.7" screen.
