Both cameras have 12.0MP sensors but Nikon P500's sensor is 1/2.3-inch sized whereas Fujifilm X-S1 has a 2/3-inch sensor. Nikon P500 was introduced to market in February 2011 and Fujifilm X-S1 was launched in November 2011.
