Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Leica SL2-S and Leica M Edition 60 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Leica SL2-S has external dimensions of 146 x 107 x 83 mm (5.75 x 4.21 x 3.27″) and weighs 931 g (2.05 lb / 32.84 oz) (including batteries). Leica M Edition 60 has external dimensions of 139 x 80 x 42 mm (5.47 x 3.15 x 1.65″) and weighs 680 g (1.50 lb / 23.99 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Leica SL2-S and the Leica M Edition 60. Leica M Edition 60 is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. Its body is 7mm narrower, 27mm shorter and 41mm thinner than Leica SL2-S.
Here is the back view size comparison of the Leica SL2-S and Leica M Edition 60.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Leica SL2-S and Leica M Edition 60.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Leica M Edition 60 is significantly lighter (251g ) than the Leica SL2-S which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.
Also keep in mind that body weight is not the only deciding factor when comparing two interchangeable camera bodies, you also have to take into account the lenses that you will be using with these bodies. Since both Leica SL2-S and Leica M Edition 60 have the same Full frame sized sensor, their lenses for a similar focal length and aperture will be similar in size and weight.
Weather Sealing
Both the SL2-S and the M Edition 60 have weather sealings in their bodies, making them resistant to water and dust.
LCD Screen Size and Features
Leica SL2-S's 3.20" LCD screen is slightly larger than Leica M Edition 60's 3 screen.
Unfortunately, both cameras has fixed screens so they don't tilt or flip in directions.
