Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Leica M10 and Leica SL2-S side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Leica M10 has external dimensions of 139 x 39 x 80 mm (5.47 x 1.54 x 3.15″) and weighs 660 g (1.46 lb / 23.28 oz) (including batteries). Leica SL2-S has external dimensions of 146 x 107 x 83 mm (5.75 x 4.21 x 3.27″) and weighs 931 g (2.05 lb / 32.84 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Leica M10 and the Leica SL2-S. Leica M10 is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. Its body is 7mm narrower, 68mm shorter and 3mm thinner than Leica SL2-S.
Here is the back view size comparison of the Leica M10 and Leica SL2-S.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Leica M10 and Leica SL2-S.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Leica M10 is significantly lighter (271g ) than the Leica SL2-S which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.
Also keep in mind that body weight is not the only deciding factor when comparing two interchangeable camera bodies, you also have to take into account the lenses that you will be using with these bodies. Since both Leica M10 and Leica SL2-S have the same Full frame sized sensor, their lenses for a similar focal length and aperture will be similar in size and weight.
Weather Sealing
Thanks to the weather-sealed body of the SL2-S, you can use this camera with more confidence under conditions where there is risk of exposure to water and dust compared to the M10.
LCD Screen Size and Features
Leica SL2-S's 3.20" LCD screen is slightly larger than Leica M10's 3″ screen.
Unfortunately, both cameras has fixed screens so they don't tilt or flip in directions.
