Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Leica C-Lux and Olympus E-M1X side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Leica C-Lux has external dimensions of 113 x 67 x 46 mm (4.45 x 2.64 x 1.81″) and weighs 340 g (0.75 lb / 11.99 oz) (including batteries). Olympus E-M1X has external dimensions of 144 x 147 x 75 mm (5.67 x 5.79 x 2.95″) and weighs 997 g (2.20 lb / 35.17 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Leica C-Lux and the Olympus E-M1X. Leica C-Lux is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. Its body is 31mm narrower, 80mm shorter and 29mm thinner than Olympus E-M1X. As you can tell, actually this is not a fair size comparison since Leica C-Lux has a built-in lens but Olympus E-M1X doesn't. Once you put a lens on E-M1X, its thickness will increase significantly.
Here is the back view size comparison of the Leica C-Lux and Olympus E-M1X.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Leica C-Lux and Olympus E-M1X.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Leica C-Lux is significantly lighter (657g ) than the Olympus E-M1X which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.
Again, this comparison may not be very useful in real life as we are comparing the weight of a camera with a built-in lens to the body-only weight of an interchangeable lens camera. Once you put a lens on E-M1X, the total kit will weigh much higher.
Weather Sealing
Thanks to the weather-sealed body of the E-M1X, you can use this camera with more confidence under conditions where there is risk of exposure to water and dust compared to the C-Lux.
LCD Screen Size and Features
Leica C-Lux and Olympus E-M1X's LCD screens have the same diagonal size of 3.00 inches.
On the other hand, Olympus E-M1X sports a
Fully Articulated screen which you can change the angle and position of the screen almost freely, making it possible to shoot from waist or over-the-head levels, and especially very useful for shooting selfies and video. Leica C-Lux's LCD screen is a fixed type which provides almost no flexibility in shooting positions compared to E-M1X.
