Fujifilm X-T30 vs Sony WX300: Physical Specs and Body features Comparison

Size and weight is a big decision factor when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs. In this section, We are going to illustrate Fujifilm X-T30 and Sony WX300 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Fujifilm X-T30 has external dimensions of 118 x 83 x 47 mm (4.65 x 3.27 x 1.85″) and weighs 383 g (0.84 lb / 13.51 oz) (including batteries). Sony WX300 has external dimensions of 96 x 55 x 25 mm (3.78 x 2.16 x 0.98″) and weighs 166 g (0.37 lb / 5.86 oz) (including batteries).

Below you can see the front view size comparison of Fujifilm X-T30 and Sony WX300. Sony WX300 is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. Its body is 22mm narrower, 28mm shorter and 22mm thinner than Fujifilm X-T30. As you can tell, actually this is not a fair size comparison since Sony WX300 has a built-in lens but Fujifilm X-T30 doesn't. Once you put a lens on X-T30, its thickness will increase significantly.

Weight is another important factor especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day. Sony WX300 is significantly lighter (217g ) than the Fujifilm X-T30 which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.

Again, this comparison may not be very useful in real life as we are comparing the weight of a camera with a built-in lens to the body-only weight of an interchangeable lens camera. Once you put a lens on X-T30, the total kit will weigh much higher.

Weather Sealing

Unfortunately neither Fujifilm X-T30 nor Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX300 provides any type of weather sealing in their body, so you have to give extra care especially when you are shooting outdoors. If weather sealing is a must-have feature for you, check these sections:

On the other hand, Fujifilm X-T30 features a Tilting screen where you can change the angle of the screen to make it easier to shoot from waist or over the head levels whereas the Sony WX300 has a fixed type screen which provides less flexibility in shooting positions compared to X-T30.
Fujifilm X-T30 vs Sony WX300: Sensor Comparison

Fujifilm X-T30 has a 26.0MP APS-C (23.5 x 15.6 mm ) sized X-Trans CMOS sensor and features X-Processor 4 processor. On the other hand, Sony WX300 has a 18.0MP 1/2.3-inch (6.17 x 4.55 mm ) sized BSI-CMOS sensor .

Fujifilm X-T30's sensor provides 8MP more than Sony WX300's sensor, which gives a significant advantage in real life. You can print your images larger or crop more freely. On the other hand, please keep in mind that Max sensor resolution is not the only determinant of resolving power. Factors such as the optical elements, low pass filter, pixel size and sensor technology also affects the final resolution of the captured image.

Another difference between these two cameras is that Fujifilm X-T30's sensor lacks anti-alias (Low-Pass) filter. Removing anti-alias filter increases the sharpness and level of detail but at the same time, it increases the chance of moire occurring in certain scenes.

Below you can see the X-T30 and WX300 sensor size comparison.
