Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Fujifilm X-T2 and Canon SX420 IS side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Fujifilm X-T2 has external dimensions of 133 x 92 x 49 mm (5.24 x 3.62 x 1.9″) and weighs 507 g (including batteries). Canon SX420 IS has external dimensions of 104 x 69 x 85 mm (4.09 x 2.72 x 3.35″) and weighs 325 g (0.72 lb / 11.46 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Fujifilm X-T2 and the Canon SX420 IS. Canon SX420 IS is 29mm narrower and 23mm shorter than Fujifilm X-T2 but it is also 36mm thicker. As you can tell, actually this is not a fair size comparison since Canon SX420 IS has a built-in lens but Fujifilm X-T2 doesn't. Once you put a lens on X-T2, its thickness will increase significantly.

Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Canon SX420 IS is significantly lighter (182g ) than the Fujifilm X-T2 which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.
Again, this comparison may not be very useful in real life as we are comparing the weight of a camera with a built-in lens to the body-only weight of an interchangeable lens camera. Once you put a lens on X-T2, the total kit will weigh much higher.
Weather Sealing
With its weather-sealed body, we believe that the X-T2 has a big advantage over the SX420 IS which doesn't provide any kind of environmental sealing.
LCD Screen Size and Features
Fujifilm X-T2's 3.20" LCD screen is slightly larger than Canon SX420 IS's 3" screen.
In addition to the size advantage, Fujifilm X-T2 LCD screen also has a
Tilting feature where you can change the angle of the screen to make it easier to shoot from waist or over-the-head levels. On the other hand, Canon SX420 IS has a fixed type screen which provides less flexibility in shooting positions compared to X-T2.
