Size and weight is a big decision factor when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, We are going to illustrate Canon G9 X and Kodak S-1 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Canon G9 X has external dimensions of 98 x 58 x 31 mm (3.86 x 2.28 x 1.21″) and weighs 209 g (0.46 lb / 7.37 oz) (including batteries). Kodak S-1 has external dimensions of 116 x 68 x 36 mm (4.55 x 2.69 x 1.4″) and weighs 290 g (0.64 lb / 10.23 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front view size comparison of Canon G9 X and Kodak S-1. Canon G9 X is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. Its body is 18mm narrower, 10mm shorter and 5mm thinner than Kodak S-1. As you can tell, actually this is not a fair size comparison since Canon G9 X has a built-in lens but Kodak S-1 doesn't. Once you put a lens on S-1, its thickness will increase significantly.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Canon G9 X and Kodak S-1.
Weight is another important factor especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Canon G9 X is significantly lighter (81g ) than the Kodak S-1 which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.
Again, this comparison may not be very useful in real life as we are comparing the weight of a camera with a built-in lens to the body-only weight of an interchangeable lens camera. Once you put a lens on S-1, the total kit will weigh much higher.
Unfortunately neither Canon PowerShot G9 X nor Kodak Pixpro S-1 provides any type of weather sealing in their body, so you have to give extra care especially when you are shooting outdoors. LCD Screen Size and Features
Canon G9 X and Kodak S-1's LCD screens has the same diagonal size of 3".
On the other hand, Kodak S-1 features a Tilting screen
where you can change the angle of the screen to make it easier to shoot from waist or over the head levels whereas the Canon G9 X has a fixed type screen which provides less flexibility in shooting positions compared to S-1.
