Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Canon G3 X and Kodak S-1 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Canon G3 X has external dimensions of 123 x 77 x 105 mm (4.84 x 3.03 x 4.13″) and weighs 733 g (1.62 lb / 25.86 oz) (including batteries). Kodak S-1 has external dimensions of 116 x 68 x 36 mm (4.55 x 2.69 x 1.4″) and weighs 290 g (0.64 lb / 10.23 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Canon G3 X and the Kodak S-1. Kodak S-1 is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. Its body is 7mm narrower, 9mm shorter and 69mm thinner than Canon G3 X. As you can tell, actually this is not a fair size comparison since Canon G3 X has a built-in lens but Kodak S-1 doesn't. Once you put a lens on S-1, its thickness will increase significantly.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Canon G3 X and Kodak S-1.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Kodak S-1 is significantly lighter (443g ) than the Canon G3 X which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.
Again, this comparison may not be very useful in real life as we are comparing the weight of a camera with a built-in lens to the body-only weight of an interchangeable lens camera. Once you put a lens on S-1, the total kit will weigh much higher.
Weather Sealing
With its weather-sealed body, we believe that the G3 X has a big advantage over the S-1 which doesn't provide any kind of environmental sealing.
LCD Screen Size and Features
Canon G3 X's 3.20" LCD screen is slightly larger than Kodak S-1's 3" screen.
Both cameras feature
Tilting screens where you can change the angle of the screen to make it easier to shoot from waist or over-the-head levels.
