Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Canon M10 and Kodak Z1485 IS side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Canon M10 has external dimensions of 108 x 67 x 35 mm (4.25 x 2.64 x 1.38″) and weighs 301 g (0.66 lb / 10.62 oz) (including batteries). Kodak Z1485 IS has external dimensions of 90 x 64 x 39 mm (3.54 x 2.52 x 1.54″) and weighs 194 g (0.43 lb / 6.84 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Canon M10 and the Kodak Z1485 IS. Kodak Z1485 IS is 18mm narrower and 3mm shorter than Canon M10 but it is also 4mm thicker. As you can tell, actually this is not a fair size comparison since Kodak Z1485 IS has a built-in lens but Canon M10 doesn't. Once you put a lens on M10, its thickness will increase significantly.
Here is the back view size comparison of the Canon M10 and Kodak Z1485 IS.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Kodak Z1485 IS is significantly lighter (107g ) than the Canon M10 which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.
Again, this comparison may not be very useful in real life as we are comparing the weight of a camera with a built-in lens to the body-only weight of an interchangeable lens camera. Once you put a lens on M10, the total kit will weigh much higher.
Weather Sealing
Unfortunately neither the Canon EOS M10 nor Kodak EasyShare Z1485 IS provides any type of weather sealing in their bodies, so you have to give extra care especially when you are shooting outdoors. LCD Screen Size and Features
Canon M10's 3.00" LCD screen is slightly larger than Kodak Z1485 IS's 2.5" screen.
In addition to the size advantage, Canon M10 LCD screen also has a
Tilting feature where you can change the angle of the screen to make it easier to shoot from waist or over-the-head levels. On the other hand, Kodak Z1485 IS has a fixed type screen which provides less flexibility in shooting positions compared to M10.
