Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Canon 60Da and Canon G9 X II side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Canon 60Da has external dimensions of 145 x 106 x 79 mm (5.71 x 4.17 x 3.11″) and weighs 755 g (1.66 lb / 26.63 oz) (including batteries). Canon G9 X II has external dimensions of 98 x 58 x 31 mm (3.86 x 2.28 x 1.22″) and weighs 206 g (0.45 lb / 7.27 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Canon 60Da and the Canon G9 X II. Canon G9 X II is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. Its body is 47mm narrower, 48mm shorter and 48mm thinner than Canon 60Da. As you can tell, actually this is not a fair size comparison since Canon G9 X II has a built-in lens but Canon 60Da doesn't. Once you put a lens on 60Da, its thickness will increase significantly.
Here is the back view size comparison of the Canon 60Da and Canon G9 X II.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Canon 60Da and Canon G9 X II.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Canon G9 X II is significantly lighter (549g ) than the Canon 60Da which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.
Again, this comparison may not be very useful in real life as we are comparing the weight of a camera with a built-in lens to the body-only weight of an interchangeable lens camera. Once you put a lens on 60Da, the total kit will weigh much higher.
Weather Sealing
With its weather-sealed body, we believe that the 60Da has a big advantage over the G9 X II which doesn't provide any kind of environmental sealing.
LCD Screen Size and Features
Canon 60Da and Canon G9 X II's LCD screens have the same diagonal size of 3.00 inches.
On the other hand, Canon 60Da sports a
Fully Articulated screen which you can change the angle and position of the screen almost freely, making it possible to shoot from waist or over-the-head levels, and especially very useful for shooting selfies and video. Canon G9 X II's LCD screen is a fixed type which provides almost no flexibility in shooting positions compared to 60Da.
