Nikon Nikkor 28mm F2.8 Standard Version
Nikon released the 'Standard' version of the Nikon Nikkor Z 28mm f2.8 SE (Special Edition) that it previously introduced with Nikon Z fc in June 2021. As the name suggests, the special edition SE lens was a special version that was designed to compliment the Nikon Z fc which have a retro design, and was available both in Silver and Black colors.
The new S 28mm F2.8 covers the full frame sensors of the cameras such as Nikon Z7 Mark II or Nikon Z9 and provides the actual focal length of 28mm which is a classical wideangle reach. On the other side, when used on cameras such as Nikon Z fc or Nikon Z50 with APS-C size sensors, the 35mm equivalent focal range will be 42mm, act more as a 'Normal' or 'Standard' lens.
Below you can see the real life comparison of Nikon Z 28mm F2.8 Standard vs SE vs Nikkor Z 40mm F2.8 lenses. As seen on the comparison, the differences between the 28mm lenses are cosmetics only.
