Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Panasonic ZS70 and Panasonic G7 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Panasonic ZS70 has external dimensions of 112 x 67 x 41 mm (4.41 x 2.64 x 1.61″) and weighs 322 g (0.71 lb / 11.36 oz) (including batteries). Panasonic G7 has external dimensions of 125 x 86 x 77 mm (4.92 x 3.39 x 3.03″) and weighs 410 g (0.90 lb / 14.46 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Panasonic ZS70 and the Panasonic G7. Panasonic ZS70 is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. Its body is 13mm narrower, 19mm shorter and 36mm thinner than Panasonic G7. As you can tell, actually this is not a fair size comparison since Panasonic ZS70 has a built-in lens but Panasonic G7 doesn't. Once you put a lens on G7, its thickness will increase significantly.
Here is the back view size comparison of the Panasonic ZS70 and Panasonic G7.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Panasonic ZS70 and Panasonic G7.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Panasonic ZS70 is significantly lighter (88g ) than the Panasonic G7 which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.
Again, this comparison may not be very useful in real life as we are comparing the weight of a camera with a built-in lens to the body-only weight of an interchangeable lens camera. Once you put a lens on G7, the total kit will weigh much higher.
Weather Sealing
Unfortunately neither the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS70 (Lumix DC-TZ90) nor Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 provides any type of weather sealing in their bodies, so you have to give extra care especially when you are shooting outdoors. LCD Screen Size and Features
Panasonic ZS70 and Panasonic G7's LCD screens have the same diagonal size of 3.00 inches.
Panasonic ZS70 features a
Tilting-only screen which is mostly only good for shooting from waist or over-the-head levels. On the other hand, Panasonic G7 sports a
Fully Articulated screen which is more flexible and useful, especially for taking selfies and video.
