Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Fujifilm XP80 and Fujifilm X-A2 side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Fujifilm XP80 has external dimensions of 104 x 67 x 26 mm (4.09 x 2.64 x 1.02″) and weighs 179 g (0.39 lb / 6.31 oz) (including batteries). Fujifilm X-A2 has external dimensions of 117 x 67 x 40 mm (4.61 x 2.64 x 1.57″) and weighs 350 g (0.77 lb / 12.35 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Fujifilm XP80 and the Fujifilm X-A2. Fujifilm XP80 is 13mm narrower and 14mm thinner than Fujifilm XP80 but they have the same height of 67mm. As you can tell, actually this is not a fair size comparison since Fujifilm XP80 has a built-in lens but Fujifilm X-A2 doesn't. Once you put a lens on X-A2, its thickness will increase significantly.
Here is the back view size comparison of the Fujifilm XP80 and Fujifilm X-A2.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Fujifilm XP80 and Fujifilm X-A2.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Fujifilm XP80 is significantly lighter (171g ) than the Fujifilm X-A2 which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.
Again, this comparison may not be very useful in real life as we are comparing the weight of a camera with a built-in lens to the body-only weight of an interchangeable lens camera. Once you put a lens on X-A2, the total kit will weigh much higher.
Weather Sealing
Thanks to the weather-sealed body of the XP80, you can use this camera with more confidence under conditions where there is risk of exposure to water and dust compared to the X-A2.
LCD Screen Size and Features
Fujifilm X-A2's 3.00" LCD screen is slightly larger than Fujifilm XP80's 2.7 screen.
In addition to the size advantage, Fujifilm X-A2 LCD screen also has a
Tilting feature where you can change the angle of the screen to make it easier to shoot from waist or over-the-head levels. On the other hand, Fujifilm XP80 has a fixed type screen which provides less flexibility in shooting positions compared to X-A2.
