Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Casio EX-10 and Canon 350D side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Casio EX-10 has external dimensions of 120 x 68 x 49 mm (4.72 x 2.67 x 1.91″) and weighs 384 g (0.85 lb / 13.55 oz) (including batteries). Canon 350D has external dimensions of 127 x 94 x 64 mm (5 x 3.7 x 2.52″) and weighs 540 g (1.19 lb / 19.05 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Casio EX-10 and the Canon 350D. Casio EX-10 is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. Its body is 7mm narrower, 26mm shorter and 15mm thinner than Canon 350D. As you can tell, actually this is not a fair size comparison since Casio EX-10 has a built-in lens but Canon 350D doesn't. Once you put a lens on 350D, its thickness will increase significantly.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Casio EX-10 is significantly lighter (156g ) than the Canon 350D which may become a big advantage especially on long walking trips.
Again, this comparison may not be very useful in real life as we are comparing the weight of a camera with a built-in lens to the body-only weight of an interchangeable lens camera. Once you put a lens on 350D, the total kit will weigh much higher.
Weather Sealing
Unfortunately neither the Casio Exilim EX-10 nor Canon EOS 350D (EOS Digital Rebel XT / EOS Kiss Digital N) provides any type of weather sealing in their bodies, so you have to give extra care especially when you are shooting outdoors. LCD Screen Size and Features
Casio EX-10's 3.50" LCD screen is slightly larger than Canon 350D's 1.8 screen.
In addition to the size advantage, Casio EX-10 LCD screen also has a
Tilting feature where you can change the angle of the screen to make it easier to shoot from waist or over-the-head levels. On the other hand, Canon 350D has a fixed type screen which provides less flexibility in shooting positions compared to EX-10.
