Size and weight are big decision factors when you are trying to find the ideal camera for your needs.
In this section, we are going to illustrate the Canon 80D and Pentax KP side-by-side from the front, back and top in their relative dimensions. Canon 80D has external dimensions of 139 x 105 x 79 mm (5.47 x 4.13 x 3.11″) and weighs 730 g (1.61 lb / 25.75 oz) (including batteries). Pentax KP has external dimensions of 132 x 101 x 76 mm (5.2 x 3.98 x 2.99″) and weighs 703 g (1.55 lb / 24.80 oz) (including batteries).
Below you can see the front-view size comparison of the Canon 80D and the Pentax KP. Pentax KP is clearly the smaller of the two cameras. Its body is 7mm narrower, 4mm shorter and 3mm thinner than Canon 80D.
Here is the back view size comparison of the Canon 80D and Pentax KP.
Now lets look at the top view comparison of Canon 80D and Pentax KP.
Weight is another important factor, especially when deciding on a camera that you want to carry with you all day.
Pentax KP is 27g lighter than the Canon 80D but we don't think this will make a significant difference.
Also keep in mind that body weight is not the only deciding factor when comparing two interchangeable camera bodies, you also have to take into account the lenses that you will be using with these bodies. Since both Canon 80D and Pentax KP have the same APS-C sized sensor, their lenses for a similar focal length and aperture will be similar in size and weight.
Weather Sealing
Both the 80D and the KP have weather sealings in their bodies, making them resistant to water and dust.
LCD Screen Size and Features
Canon 80D and Pentax KP's LCD screens have the same diagonal size of 3.00 inches.
Pentax KP features a
Tilting-only screen which is mostly only good for shooting from waist or over-the-head levels. On the other hand, Canon 80D sports a
Fully Articulated screen which is more flexible and useful, especially for taking selfies and video.
