Canon 700D has a
18.0MP APS-C (22.3 x 14.9 mm ) sized CMOS sensor and features Digic 5 processor. On the other hand, Samsung NX30 has a
20.0MP APS-C (23.5 x 15.7 mm ) sized CMOS sensor and features DRIMeIV processor.
Below you can see the 700D and NX30 sensor size comparison.
As seen above, Samsung NX30 has a 1.1x Larger sensor area than Canon 700D. Larger sensors give photographer more control on the depth of field and blurry background compared to smaller sensor when shot in same focal length and aperture.
DxOMark Sensor Scores
DxOMark is a benchmark that scientifically assesses image quality of camera sensors. It scores camera sensors for color depth (DXO Portrait), dynamic range (DXO Landscape) and low-light sensitivity (DXO Sports), and also gives them an overall score. Canon 700D and Samsung NX30 sensors have been tested by DxO and the results show that NX30 has a better overall score of 77, 16 points higher compared to 700D's score of 61.
